Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)
Eligible clinicians participating in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System may apply through Dec. 31 for a 2018 hardship exception for the Promoting Interoperability performance category or for 鈥渆xtreme and uncontrollable circumstances.鈥
Clinicians can apply through Sept. 6 to participate in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services鈥 Medicare Advantage Qualifying Incentive Arrangement Demonstration.
CMS today announced plans to advance a Medicare Advantage Qualifying Payment Arrangement Incentive (MAQI) Demonstration that would exempt clinicians who participate in certain payment arrangements with MA organizations from the MIPS reporting requirements and payment adjustment.
