CMS Issues Correction to IRF Final Rule for 2007 (September 30, 2006)
On Friday, September 30, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a technical correction to the FY 2007 final rule for the inpatient rehabilitation facility prospective payment system. See the update that was published in the Federal Register. Most of these minor changes to the rule, which were effective October 1, pertain to the provisions on competitive bidding for durable medical equipment (which are not traditionally included in this rule). The update also corrects a type-setting error in the wage-index table.
