AdventHealth Dade City and AdventHealth Zephyrhills are being recognized for the success of their falls prevention program. The three-hour training program began in January 2023 and reduced falls by 80% through nearly all inpatient units within the first four months, sustaining those results since its inception. The hospitals will receive the award during the <a href="https://www.ashrm.org/annual-conference">ASHRM Annual Conference</a> Oct. 6-9 in San Diego.</p> Thu, 05 Sep 2024 14:14:37 -0500 ASHRM /news/headline/2024-07-11-ashrm-shsmd-name-evan-williams-new-executive-director <p>Evan Williams, a certified association executive, will serve as new executive director for the <a href="https://www.ashrm.org/press-release/newly-appointed-executive-director-evan-williams" target="_blank">American Society for Health Care Risk Management</a> and the <a href="https://www.shsmd.org/press-release/leadership-announcement" target="_blank">Society for Health Care Strategy & Market Development</a>, both organizations announced July 10. Williams is a former vice president of external relations for the Mechanical Contractors Association, as well as a former director of professional services and resources for the Appraisal Institute. His career began in state government affairs and advocacy in Illinois before transitioning to the association sector. Melina, who serves as Nuvance’s assistant vice president of risk management, was recognized in part because of her role mentoring newer risk professionals and overseeing resident education, along with leading the development and implementation of the organization’s Serious Safety Event Review Team. Melina will be recognized at ASHRM’s Annual Conference in October.<br />  <br /> ASHRM also will <a href="https://www.ashrm.org/ashrm-announces-2023-patient-safety-award-recipient">present</a> North American Partners in Anesthesia with its 2023 ASHRM Patient Safety Award for its Anesthesia Risk Alert program.
