In addition, several experts from firms that partner with hospitals and health systems and physician practices share their insights on what’s shaping trends in physician-practice ownership models.</p> <p>UnitedHealth Group, Aetna, various Blue Cross Blue Shield entities and others now offer plans built around clinics the insurers or their affiliate companies own, featuring smaller networks with more limited choices of doctors and hospitals. That's 8,800 more people than in July and 97,400 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,256,000 people in August – 7,800 more than in July and 97,500 more than a year ago.
