Roxanna Gapstur, R.N., appointed president and CEO of WellSpan Health in Pennsylvania
WellSpan Health’s Board of Directors has Gapstur president and CEO of the central Pennsylvania health system effective Jan. 2. Gapstur currently serves as president of Methodist Hospital and senior vice president of HealthPartners, a $7.2 billion, Minnesota-based integrated health plan and care delivery organization that includes eight hospitals, 1,800 employed physicians and more than 100 care locations.
Jeffrey Welch appointed to CEO of Florida Medical Center and Tenet’s Miami-Dade Group
Welch was CEO of Florida Medical Center and Tenet’s Miami-Dade Group, which consists of a network of five hospitals. Welch previously served as CEO at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass., as well as Tenet’s South Carolina-Massachusetts Group.
Brad Simmons named interim CEO of UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento
David Lubarsky, vice chancellor of Human Health Sciences and CEO of UC Davis Health that Simmons will be the interim CEO of UC Davis Medical Center, pending approval by UC Regents in the coming month. Simmons has been the chief operating officer of the medical center since 2016.
Sarah Rush, M.D., named CMIO of Akron Children’s Hospital
Rush has been chief medical information officer for Akron Children’s Hospital in Ohio. Rush joined the hospital in 2013 as a pediatric oncologist specializing in the treatment of children with brain and spinal cord tumors. In her new role, Rush will oversee Akron Children’s clinical information systems and assist clinicians in the delivery of patient care.
Matt Blevins named COO of Flowers Hospital in Alabama
Dothan, Ala.-based Flowers Hospital Blevins as chief operating officer. Blevins previously served as CEO at Barstow Community Hospital in California.
