In an published Aug. 2 in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett highlights how hospitals, especially those in rural areas, are facing significant financial challenges and how some proposals being considered by Congress would cut patient care by slashing billions of dollars in funding to hospitals. 鈥淚f these bad ideas make it out of the Belt颅way and be颅come law, even more hos颅pi颅tals would have to shrink their ser颅vices or shut their doors 鈥 We can do bet颅ter. I urge law颅mak颅ers to re颅ject pol颅i颅cies that would cut pa颅tient care and fo颅cus on real solu颅tions that sup颅port our hos颅pi颅tals, our health颅care work颅ers, and our res颅i颅dents鈥 ac颅cess to care.鈥
