Christina Campos, CEO of Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa, N.M., and Steven Summer, former president of the Colorado and West Virginia Hospital Associations, will receive 2024 AHA Board of Trustees Awards April 15 at the AHA Annual Membership Meeting in Washington, D.C., for their contributions to AHA and the field.   
 
Campos has served AHA for over a decade in various roles, including on the Board of Trustees, Regional Policy Board 8, Committee on Nominations, Task Force on Ensuring Access in Vulnerable Communities, Task Force on the Future of Rural Healthcare, and Advocacy Alliance for Rural Health Care. She also chaired the New Mexico Hospital Association in 2010 and 2011. As CEO of Guadalupe County Hospital, she has improved and expanded services and led the planning, financing, design and construction of a replacement facility.  
 
鈥淐hristina has long been a leading voice in health care, particularly when it comes to patient access in rural America,鈥 said AHA president and CEO Rick Pollack.鈥淐hristina鈥檚 expertise and passion in providing innovative, quality care to rural communities has been felt throughout New Mexico and the entire hospital and health system field.鈥  
 
Summer has been involved with AHA for more than 30 years in various roles, including on the Rural Health Services Committee, Committee on Research, AHAPAC Steering Committee, Dick Davidson NOVA Award Committee, and Task Force on Ensuring Access in Vulnerable Communities. After retiring from the Colorado Hospital Association, he was appointed president and CEO of the Healthcare Institute. He previously served as president and CEO of the West Virginia Hospital Association and held several leadership positions with the Maryland Hospital Association.   
 
鈥淪teven has had a remarkable career, leading state hospital associations across the country and successfully advocating for policies to expand and enhance patient care,鈥 Pollack said.鈥淚n addition to helping hospitals in his states improve quality, access and innovations in health care delivery, Steven鈥檚 contributions have benefited the entire health care field.鈥
