Letter to the editor: Op-ed on America鈥檚 hospitals misleads

A recent New York Times op-ed falsely claims hospitals are not living up to their mission, but the author ignores the myriad benefits hospitals provide to their communities, writes AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. 鈥淐herry-picking statistics and weaving together unrelated issues to try to build a false narrative undermines the hard work and societal contributions of the hospital field. ... [Hospitals] are the heart of their communities and deserve our support, not false narratives,鈥 said Pollack.
