CDC awards $3.2B to expand public health workforce, infrastructure
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention yesterday awarded public health departments over five years to recruit, retain and train public health workers and improve their data, systems and processes. The agency also awarded partner organizations $65 million to assist in the efforts. The American Rescue Plan Act provided $3 billion of the funding to expand the public health workforce.
