AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack opened the AHA Leadership Summit discussing several challenges the hospital field currently faces, including workforce shortages and caring for our caregivers; a surge in inflation; a backlog in deferred care; cracks in the supply chain; uncertain funding streams from government at every level; and inadequacies in our public health system.

“The good news is that we can meet these challenges and face the future with great confidence and pride because of what all of you have accomplished,” he said, while praising the tremendous leaders in the hospital and health system field. Pollack also outlined strategies – both for the short-term and long-term – that AHA is focusing on to support the field.
