AHA today urged the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to extend at least through May 23 its reopened comment period for the interim final rule establishing an emergency temporary standard for occupational exposure to COVID-19. Comments are currently due April 22.? 
 
“The AHA and its members are working diligently to assess the need for and impact of the potential provisions and approaches specified in the notice as well as OSHA’s request for additional studies, information and data related to the delta and omicron variants since the close of OSHA’s initial comment period in August 2021,” AHA wrote. “An extension will enable hospitals and other stakeholders to deliberate, analyze and prepare thoughtful comments for OSHA’s review.”
