The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality this week  as its new director Robert “Bob” Otto Valdez, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation professor emeritus of family and community medicine and economics at the University of New Mexico. David Meyers, M.D., who served as acting director since 2021 and has resumed his role as deputy director, said Valdez “is taking the helm at an opportune time as we look to the future of healthcare post-COVID and set our sights on how we can improve care, including health equity.”
