U.S. to remain WHO member
President Biden yesterday the previous administration’s plan to withdraw from the World Health Organization. In a to the WHO executive board, Anthony Fauci, M.D., chief medical adviser to the president, also announced U.S. plans to join COVAX and support the ACT-Accelerator, to fund, develop and equitably allocate to participating countries COVID-19 diagnostics, treatments and vaccines. Among other actions, he said the U.S. would work with global partners to develop new financing mechanisms for health security; improve early warning and rapid response to emerging biological threats; and strengthen pandemic supply chain networks.
