Almost 8.3 million people selected a 2020 health plan through www.HealthCare.gov during open enrollment, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said in an  yesterday. That’s about 17,000 fewer than last month’s estimate, which did not include consumers who enrolled in the final hours or left their contact information at the call center due to high volume. The report shows plan selections in each of the 38 states using HealthCare.gov for 2020 open enrollment, which began Nov. 1 and ended at 3 a.m. ET on Dec. 18. CMS plans to release a final 2020 enrollment report in March, including data from state-based exchanges that do not use the www.HealthCare.gov platform.
