Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act clears Senate committee
The Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee today by voice vote the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act (), legislation that would reauthorize for five years federal programs to develop the nursing workforce. The House of Representatives passed its own version of the bill (H.R. 728) on Tuesday. The AHA and its American Organization for Nursing Leadership subsidiary support the legislation to help address a national shortage of nurses and nurse educators.
