AHA hosts first regional cyber workshop

The AHA yesterday co-hosted a first-of-its-kind regional cybersecurity workshop with the North Carolina Healthcare Association and South Carolina Hospital Association. Cybersecurity leaders from North Carolina, South Carolina and the local FBI offices joined John Riggi, AHA senior advisor for cybersecurity and risk, to discuss the global cyber threat landscape affecting health care in the region. Designed for technical and non-technical hospital and health system leaders, the workshop focused on cybersecurity as a strategic enterprise risk issue with implications to care delivery and patient safety. October marks Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Riggi will present additional workshops over the next several weeks in New York, Washington State and New Mexico.
