ASHE again named ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has the AHA鈥檚 American Society for Health Care Engineering an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its work to help health care facilities become more energy efficient. ASHE鈥檚 Energy to Care program helps hospitals track energy use, become more efficient and redirect energy savings toward patient care. Hospitals in the program together have saved more than $396 million on energy to date. The EPA and Department of Energy will present the award to ASHE tomorrow in Washington, D.C. 鈥淩eceiving this award for a third consecutive year recognizes the ongoing dedication that our members have shown toward the goal of creating more efficient health care facilities,鈥 said ASHE Interim Executive Director Dale Woodin. 鈥淲e are excited to build upon our previous success and to support hospitals and health systems in their efforts to advance the affordability of health care.鈥
