The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a March 5 listening  on its proposed rule to promote electronic health information exchange. Topics include the proposed rule’s revisions to the conditions of participation for hospitals and critical access hospitals. CMS Administrator Seema Verma will open the session, intended to help stakeholders formulate formal comments for submission. On Feb. 11, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and CMS both proposed new rules to promote the secure exchange and use of electronic health information.
