AHA Section for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services names 2019 leaders

Joseph Miller, vice president of behavioral health care transformation services at Hackensack (N.J.) Meridian Health, will serve as 2019 chair of the AHA's Section for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services. Raymond Waller, director/administrator for Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery in Brighton, Mich., is 2019 chair-elect. New council members for 2019 include: Brenda Romero, administrator at Presbyterian Española (N.M.) Hospital; Matthew Stanley, D.O., clinical vice president for the behavioral health service line at Avera Behavioral Health Campus | AMG Psychiatry in Sioux Falls, S.D.; and Robert Trestman, M.D., chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Va. About 1,660 AHA member executives lead general hospitals and freestanding specialty hospitals that provide behavioral health services. The Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services Council advises AHA on policy and advocacy activities and provides a forum for strategic discussion of issues important to behavioral health providers and the field as a whole.
