Verma Expands CMS Leadership Team

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma today two additions to the agency’s leadership team. Paul Mango, a former partner and health care practice leader at McKinsey & Company who ran for governor of Pennsylvania in 2017, joins CMS as chief principal deputy administrator and chief of staff. Chris Traylor, who retired as executive commissioner of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission in 2016, will serve as deputy administrator for strategic initiatives. Among other changes, Deputy Chief of Staff Brady Brookes will additionally serve as deputy administrator, CMS said.
