The AHA will present its 2017 Rural Hospital Leadership Award to Bryan Slaba, CEO of Wagner Community Memorial Hospital Avera in Wagner, SD, at its in February. AHA also will honor award finalist Erik Thorsen, CEO of Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, OR. The annual award recognizes small or rural hospital chief executives and administrators who have achieved improvements in local health delivery and health status through their leadership and direction.
