CMS issues MIPS guidance on attesting to prevention of information blocking
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently issued on attesting to information blocking prevention under the Merit-based Incentive Payment System. Under the October 2016 final rule implementing key provisions of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, clinicians who report on the MIPS advancing care information performance category must attest to three statements about how they implement and use certified electronic health record technology. The data submission deadline for the 2017 performance year for all MIPS categories is March 31, 2018. For more information, see .
