President names five to commission on opioid crisis
President Trump yesterday to chair his Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. The president also named to the bipartisan commission North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper; Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker; former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island; and Bertha Madras, a professor of psychobiology at Harvard Medical School and former deputy director in the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Established by in March, the commission will study and recommend improvements to the federal response to the crisis.
