Eligible professionals, hospitals and critical access hospitals participating in the Medicare Electronic Health Records Incentive Program for the first time in 2016 must attest to meaningful use for a continuous 90-day reporting period by Oct. 1 to avoid a payment adjustment in 2017. All returning participants currently must report for a full calendar year, although the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently  a 90-day reporting period and will communicate any changes to the program once final.
