Many U.S. adults are not getting the recommended screening tests for colorectal, breast and cervical cancers, according to a new  from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2013, about one in five women were not up to date with cervical cancer screening, one in four women were not up to date with breast cancer screening, and two in five adults were not up to date with colorectal cancer screening. Screening for cervical cancer has declined since 2010 while screening for breast and colorectal cancers have not improved. For all three cancers, screening rates were particularly low for those without health insurance or a usual source of care. Screening rates were similar for whites and African Americans and lower for Latinos, with variation among racial and ethnic subgroups.
