Coalition campaign: 'Tell Congress don't cut hospital care'
As Congress prepares to address a physician payment fix, the Coalition to Protect America’s Health Care this week launched a new television and campaign urging Congress to reject payment cuts that would limit patients’ access to hospital care. The campaign includes ad displays at Reagan National Airport and online ads on websites frequented by members of Congress and their staffs. In addition, the coalition’s million-member online community will share with lawmakers through social media how cuts would impact their families. A short-term patch to the Sustainable Growth Rate for Medicare physician payment is set to expire March 31. “We believe our new ads, together with the strong powerful voice of our million-strong online community, will tell Congress loudly and clearly that there is never a right time to cut funding for hospital care,” said Marna Borgstrom, coalition chair and president and CEO of Yale New Haven Health System.
