ASPR releases Ebola funding opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response late today released a funding opportunity for Ebola preparedness that provides some funding for hospitals. The announcement (FOA #: EP-U3R-15-002) allocates a total of $194.5 million from the $576 million in Ebola emergency funding allocated by Congress this past December to states, cities and U.S. territories. Up to 10% of these dollars will be retained by the state, city or territory for their direct costs. Of the remaining funds, 30% will go to the HPP health care coalitions, and no more than 70% may go to Ebola treatment hospitals or Ebola assessment hospitals, with a maximum of $1 million for any hospital.
