On August 28, 2023, Tropical Storm Ten intensified into Tropical Storm Idalia as expected and will more than likely become a hurricane before impacting the Gulf Coast of the US state of Florida. Tropical Storm Idalia poses a significant threat, with life-threatening storm surges projected along parts of the Florida Gulf Coast, including Tampa Bay and the Big Bend region. Hurricane conditions are expected within the Hurricane Warning area along the Florida Gulf Coast, potentially bringing destructive winds as Idalia's core makes landfall, and strong winds spreading inland across northern Florida.
