Helen DeVos Children鈥檚 Hospital (HDVCH), part of Spectrum Health, is a 234-bed comprehensive children鈥檚 hospital in downtown Grand Rapids, that not only serves the needs of the local community, but also is a regional referral center for Spectrum Health and western Michigan. During the pandemic, HDVCH and community partners responded quickly to the increased need for behavioral health services and found new ways to provide them.
Nationwide Children鈥檚 launched a national movement On Our Sleeves to break stigmas around children鈥檚 mental health in 2018, and in March 2020 opened Big Lots Behavioral health pavilion.
