What is it?

A free community event, Healthy Woman Expo focuses on women’s and children’s health issues, and raises breast cancer awareness. Those attending have the opportunity to:

• Visit with physicians, dietitians, therapists, and support groups
  
• Receive health screenings
  
• Monitor their blood pressure, body fat, and cholesterol
  
• Enjoy live heart-healthy cooking demonstrations, meet community vendors with products and services of interest to women, and attend a luncheon and fashion show targeted to raise breast cancer awareness

  Who is it for?

  Women of all ages in the area served by River Region.

  Why do they do it?

  Women in Mississippi have a high propensity for heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.

  Impact

  This event (approximately 800 attendees) encourages women to meet medical experts, receive free health screenings, learn about the latest in medical technology, and get first-hand information on urgent health issues faced by these women and their families. The attendees are provided with guidelines for healthy living.
