Visitors to UCHealth’s website can chat with Livi by speaking or using text commands to access information about various health topics. With the opening greeting of “Alexa, ask UCHealth,” a visitor can get answers to such questions as: “Where can I find information on diabetes?” “Where is the nearest urgent care center?” or “Can you find me a neurologist?” It also can provide contact information for specific physicians and share the latest UCHealth patient stories.

Livi’s conversational AI will grow smarter with each use, and UCHealth is testing the platform with Google Assistant voice-enabled devices the health system says. In addition, UCHealth is working to integrate Livi into both its electronic health record system and its mobile app. The system’s vision is to connect patients with their personal health information so they can obtain lab results and schedule appointments more easily.
